Our Congregation
Our name, Ahavath Chesed, means lovingkindness. We live that value every day by creating a warm, welcoming, and inclusive community for you to find belonging and experience the joy of Reform Judaism. We embrace the traditions of Reform Judaism and strive to keep those traditions relevant and meaningful in our evolving modern world. We find meaning in these traditions through worship, education, celebration, music, and life-cycle events. We welcome you and look forward to helping you engage in a meaningful Jewish life.
Our Campus
The Temple is conveniently located in the San Jose/Baymeadows area. The interior includes a soaring, 350 seat sanctuary, a separate chapel, three large social event spaces, a commercial kitchen, and an 11 classroom education wing. The building also houses the Sisterhood Judaica gift shop, the Temple library and the comprehensive Temple archives. Outside, there is an expansive patio, play spaces for children, and a community garden. For a tour of our campus or to inquire about event space, click here.
Our Community
We actively engage with the wider Jewish community, as well as with greater Jacksonville. Our rabbis are at the forefront of inclusion and outreach, and we participate in a city-wide Interfaith Thanksgiving, conduct pulpit swaps, and are active within numerous organizations that promote civility and respect for all.
