Team Chesed

Rooted in our rich Jewish tradition of caring for one another, Team Chesed fosters a culture of compassion within our community. As a congregation, we choose to perform acts of lovingkindness. It is in our name, and it is what we do together. Your actions are the driving force behind this mission.

Our Impact and Outreach

Team Chesed is focused on deepening our community impact through dedicated support initiatives:

  • Milestones and Connection: We send greeting cards for major life events and make regular phone calls to homebound congregants.
  • Care During Loss: Trained congregants are available to lead a shiva minyan when clergy are unavailable.
  • Holiday Deliveries: Members prepare and deliver chicken soup and treats to more than 40 households for Rosh Hashanah, Chanukah, Passover, and a mid-summer Shabbat.
  • Transportation Assistance: We are developing a congregant-led driver program to help those unable to drive at night attend Shabbat worship and Temple activities.
  • Max Block Food Pantry: We combat local food insecurity by collecting donations. We encourage you to bring food every time you visit the Temple.

Keep Us Informed

We can only take action when we know there is a need, and that is where you become a crucial part of Team Chesed. If you know a congregant or family member in need of extra support, please share the information with us. We prefer to hear about the same situation multiple times rather than not to hear at all. Do not assume someone else has notified the Temple.
