Why do we love Temple?

“Notice the dishes in the picture. We love Temple because it feeds us. The menu is varied and quite filling. We get spiritual nourishment from worship; a full plate of learning through study and a myriad of enrichment courses and programs; a heartfelt meal of sharing and caring with our Temple family, who welcomed us from day one nearly 30 years ago. So, grab a plate, literally, and let Temple feed you, too. B’teiavon!”

– Deborah & Michael Kuhr

“I absolutely love our Temple! I have never felt more welcomed or more at home at a synagogue. There is always so much going on, so many events for me and my little one to attend! However, attending services has to be my favorite thing to do at our Temple. I love feeling connected to our community, hearing our Rabbis message, and the music is always great. Our Temple is home.”

“One of my favorite Temple memories is being trusted to unroll the Torah scroll for Simchat Torah while I was a conversion candidate. It was nerve wracking at the time, but the honor was not lost on me. Temple has a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, especially for those in interfaith relationships. It also has amazing clergy, leadership, and staff.”

Rabbi Maya Glasser

Our Torah tells us that after the Israelites are freed from slavery, it becomes their task to discern how to best create a meaningful, long-lasting community. They decide to build a sanctuary so that God’s presence will dwell among them. In turn, God asks each person whose heart is so moved to bring a gift for this holy space, recognizing that every individual has something valuable to contribute. As carriers of that legacy, we invite you to bring your own unique gifts to Temple, whether those are monetary, or offerings of time or skill. With your contributions, our precious Temple will continue to grow, thrive, and be a holy place for all.
