Religious School
Temple’s weekly Religious School is the heart of our youth education, inspiring Jewish identity, values, and a love of community from the very start of your child’s Jewish journey. Our engaging curriculum brings Jewish and Hebrew studies to life in and out of the classroom! In addition to traditional instruction by caring trained teachers, your students may be making latkes in the kitchen, growing parsley for Passover in the Temple garden, engaging with the Rabbi in a musical moment, or participating in a dramatic interpretation of ancient Jewish stories. Want to learn more? Check out our FAQ or read the Religious School handbook.

Who may attend?
Our Sunday Religious School serves students in member families from birth to Grade 12.
Which program best suits your child?
In Parent & Me, children under 5 and their caregivers engage with joyful Jewish learning through stories, art, play, and connection.
PK through 7th invites each student to explore their Jewish identity through curricula rooted in Jewish history, culture, and values. Teachers guide students through hands-on, developmentally appropriate lessons in Jewish Studies and Hebrew, along with engaging activities and meaningful projects.
As the students approach their 13th year, they will study prayers and Torah to help them prepare for their B’nei Mitzvah. For more information about this important milestone, click here.
Post B’nei Mitzvah, our Temple Teens program uses Moving Traditions to navigate the journey of being an American Jewish teen, while learning important leadership strategies. Temple Teens has a strong social component as well, with opportunities for the students to foster lifelong friendships with their peers. (Link here to the Temple Teens calendar)
When they are in 10th or 11th grade students participate in Temple’s Confirmation program. Building on their earlier b’nei mitzvah experiences, the Confirmation service is a joyful celebration when our teenagers express their connection to Judaism with pride.
Temple’s Confirmation program meets monthly with the clergy to discuss Jewish values, Jewish history, Israel, Torah, and more.
What is a typical Sunday schedule?
We join together for community breakfast each Sunday from 9:00 to 9:30am. From 9:30am until noon, students learn Hebrew and Judaics, participate in prayer and song, enjoy hands-on projects, build relationships with Jewish peers, and more.
