Lifelong Learning: Preparing for the Days of Awe… Join us as we prepare for the High Holy Days with two very special courses taught by our Rabbis. Rabbi Cohen will offer an explanation of the Sounds of the Season, examining the role that music plays in our High Holy Days liturgy, and why some of the tunes are different for these holidays than the versions we might hear on Shabbat. Simultaneously, Rabbi Lief will offer Food for Thought: A Taste of Teshuvah, as we learn how food is an integral part of our observance, even as we fast on Yom Kippur. Together, we’ll prepare some specially themed dishes and at the end of the evening, both groups will join together to share our reflections and sample our creations. No previous knowledge required, everyone is invited to join us.
