WHO WE ARE … WOMEN OF REFORM JUDAISM (WRJ)
Our award-winning chapter of Women of Reform Judaism comes together in friendship for programs that benefit The Temple and our community; for study and fun! Comprised of women from varied backgrounds, ages and interests, our Sisterhood initiates numerous programs, including a Women’s Seder, historical tours and much more.
For more than 100 years, inspired by Jewish traditions and values, WRJ has pioneered social action in the Reform Movement and the Jewish community. From advancing women’s leadership and equality in Jewish life and in society at large to championing numerous critical social justice issues, WRJ has been at the forefront of major efforts in the work of tikkum olam, repairing the world. We have led the Movement in support of racial and gender equality, LGBT equality, the rights of people with disabilities, immigration reform, gun violence prevention, employment rights, and criminal justice.
Their vision is to create a community of women devoted to Reform Jewish Life, bound by a sense of identity, service, friendship and mutual respect.
WHAT WE BELIEVE:
We believe in fostering and furthering the highest ideals of Judaism; promoting fellowship among members; mentoring for religious, social action and educational activities in cooperation with the Temple, the Congregation, and the community; addressing Jewish and humanitarian causes in the community; promoting the causes of Reform Judaism; furthering the objectives of Women of Reform Judaism and the WRJ SE District.
